Karen MacVittie has been a decorative painter for all of her adult life. In 1998, Karen began painting decorative cut wood to sell at craft shows and Karen’s Krafts was born. Like many crafters, Karen’s product line includes indoor shelf and wall decor as well as seasonal outdoor decorations. However, Karen’s unique use of more vibrant colors makes her work easily identifiable to her many returning customers.
The variety of products is continually changing and growing with each year and fresh merchandise always graces her booth. Her whimsical faces, unique figures and outdoor door hangies offer beautiful artistry at a reasonable price. Karen is a prolific painter and has no trouble producing the amount of product necessary to remain stocked in large shows such as “CanalFest of the Tonawandas, “Christmas in the Country” and Yuletide in the Country.
Karen paints and assembles all of her crafts in the converted bedroom that is her workshop while her husband Craig cuts all the wood in their basement workshop. Craig’s parents and Karen and Craig’s six children help out in the assembly of the finished goods as well as setting up and breaking down for shows.
